Need

Defense Activity for Non-Traditional Education Support (DANTES) supports the off-duty, voluntary education programs of the Department of Defense (DoD) and provides the military personnel with opportunities to achieve their professional and personal education goals, while actively supporting the DoD recruitment, retention and transition efforts. The DANTES website has been generally regarded by users as ineffective and unable to meet the needs of the target audience, lacking a clear information delivery strategy that can be automated, tracked, monitored and evaluated to measure the effectiveness that leads to increased participation.



Solution

Hooah worked with DANTES to achieve mission objectives by identifying a process automation strategy, outlining and automating outreach opportunities, and defining new ways to utilize its website to communicate with its audiences. Our goal was to create a more user-friendly experience and navigation to facilitate a quick and easy access for the audience members to the desired information, complete with cross-browser compatibility, 508 compliance, and integration of social media applications.


Results

The redesigned website incorporates a new appearance distinguished by an up-to-date graphic design style and page layout that lead the eye to key areas in a logical manner; originally produced videos that were shot and edited by Hooah; and a completely redesigned user experience delivering easy navigation throughout. The website also consists of a streamlined information architecture, clear information channels for each target audience and responsive features to support a mobile outreach strategy.
